The Sports & Social Committee: Formed after the QEII Jubilee in 1977, the committee, currently disbanded, has arranged a stimulating program of events, walks and visits. Village Day is a highlight in their calandar, held on the School field with side shows, cake stalls, teas and exhibits.It features a childrens fancy dress parade and is always great fun. This Village Day had a sheep shearing demonstration! |

The E.C.Cricket Club is an old established and much loved institution with its own field, and a pavillion for teas. |
| The Tennis Club operates from a court in the grounds of Whitehouse farm in the centre of the village and provides diversion on balmy summer days. New members are always welcome. | ![]() |
